5-Steps to Becoming the Higher Version of Yourself in 2024

  1. Get Organized

If you are like me than you cannot function well in chaos! A huge part of being successful in life comes from being organized. Getting organized helps you prioritize tasks and maximize your time efficiently. To enjoy the remainder of the year and move closer to achieving your goals, you’re going to have to make a to-do-list and start checking those things off. A planner is key, and an aesthetically pleasing one is even better! I have linked some good ones at the end of this blog. As you think about your short term and long-term goals, it’s better to organize strategies that’ll help you right now. This blog is product of my organization, at the top of the year, I knew my goal was to start a blog, I organized myself by getting a notebook and writing blog post ideas. Someone needs to hear it so I’m going to say this, organize your place of living! Just like you need a planner to write your tasks out, you need a clean place to feel and think positive. That can be as a little as organizing that tedious closet of yours by decluttering or buying a shelf to put things away.

  2. Read

We all heard it before but I’m going to go ahead and reiterate it for this step: Reading is fundamental! It’s something about reading that just eases the stress, calms, and educates the mind. You can truly read for two purposes like me, personally and professionally. I make it a necessity to learn something new each day. I’d like to tell you I’ve learn a lot and grown from self-help books. Nowadays reading is so accessible so we can stop making excuses for why we don’t do it. If you’re a bookworm like me than you’ll enjoy a good-old hard copy book, but then we have downloadable versions, and you can even listen to an audio book while you’re on the go. For the remainder of the year, challenge yourself with my 3P’s of reading, professional, personal, and pleasurable. Reading is a great strategy to maximize your year because as you are reading, you are thinking, processing, and if you ready to become the best version of yourself before the year is over, you will apply what you’ve read. Check out some of my favorite books that has helped transform my life.

  3. Write

You better write you dream life! Can I tell you how powerful the pen is? Just like the power of life and death is in the tongue, the power of your life can be through your pen too. First thing first, get yourself a nice journal and write down your thoughts every day, I’d suggest the positive thoughts rather than the negative. To add to that, I encourage you to keep your journal by your nightstand because sometimes the most amazing ideas come to you in the middle of the night while you’re sleeping! Also, it’s important to journal your dreams, one time I heard Bishop Bronner say that your dreams can be a revelation or preparation for something. Have you ever dreamt about something or someone and later in life the dream felt like it came true? Begin to write the life you want for yourself as if it already happened. I can’t tell you how many things in my life I’ve manifested from writing them down and speaking though it already happened for me. Spend at least 10 minutes of your day writing and the other 10 minutes of your day reading, they can both go hand in hand and really make a difference in your life. Look at me now, I used to write only in my journal but now I write blogs! All things are possible.

  4. Start Your Day Listening to Motivational Tapes

Whatever you listen to for the first 15 minutes of your day, shapes your attitude for the day! I noticed how my life changed when I started listening to motivational messages first thing in the morning as I was getting ready. I had this extra pep in my step that the coffee didn’t give me. I believe we can all use some positivity and words of encouragement in our lives and sometimes you might not get that from everybody all the time. You do have the power to control what you listen to and what you think about. Whenever you feel self-doubt or worry creeping up, find yourself a motivational video on YouTube, a podcast, or even positive music that makes you happy. If you want to take the extra step, I challenge you to record a video or voice note of you motivating yourself and play it whenever you need a reminder that you are that GIRL or BOY and you got this!

5. Pray and Meditate

Take what you need from this last step. Whatever you believe in, pray to that higher-being. Life is already so busy and noisy, and we can get so caught up and forget about prayer, but prayer is powerful! We need to spend some time throughout our day getting in prayer and expressing our gratitude, we get more out of life when we do this. I know getting still and being still is challenging for a lot of people but when you start small it begins to feel natural.  Starting small can be just 5 mins in your car, closing your eyes and being still. After you pray, meditate on what you prayed about. Just like writing to manifest your dream life, you can mediate and visualize the dream life you want. Mediation refreshes and restarts our mind, body, and soul. Make it daily habit to meditate the way you see fit and pray often! I will have a YouTube video on the power of prayer and meditation coming soon!
